Kingsthorpe College is a thriving community of approximately 200 students studying a mixture of A levels and BTEC courses. The majority of our students go on to University, and the vast majority that apply achieve their first choice.

Our students study three subjects, and this can be further supplemented by the Extended Project and a range of extra curricular activities.  Any students that have not achieved a C grade in English or Maths GCSE will be supported to achieve this in year 12 in combination with their AS courses.

The Sixth Form is housed in a separate area of the school, with a range of stunning new facilities including a common room, meeting room, and two separate study areas manned by an Independent Learning Manager.

Students play a major role in the running of the Sixth Form, with a Head Boy and Head Girl elected at the start of each year.  They work with a student leadership team that has regular meetings with the senior leadership team both in the main school and the Sixth Form.  There is no uniform policy in the Sixth Form, but an agreed ‘smart’ dress code that students actively played a role in deciding upon.

Classrooms are extremely well resourced with a range of IT facilities and state of the art Wi-Fi available for students if they wish to bring in their own devices.  Subject specific trips as well as social events are regularly organised, and a trip abroad is planned for 2016.
