Mr Butlin, your Director of Achievement, and Mrs Ford, your House Manager, welcome you to Kingsthorpe College and Green House.
The ethos of Green House is to ensure all students are happy and successful at Kingsthorpe College. We have a fantastic team of twelve tutors, from a range of faculties, who are here to support all students to achieve their full potential. This is achieved through strong partnerships between students, parents and the college. We want to provide students with a safe and challenging environment where high expectations and individual achievement are highly valued.
The vertical tutoring system allows students from all years to interact in a community setting where older students can support and mentor others. Students complete a range of activities in tutor time to extend their learning and promote a healthy sense of competition.
We are keen to take opportunities to celebrate effort and achievement. Each week rewards are given out to a ‘tutor star’ in each of our twelve tutor groups. House assemblies are used to highlight those Green House students who have received aspiration awards in various subjects. We also regularly celebrate students who have 100% attendance and those who have an excellent behaviour record.
We are currently supporting the Children are Butterflies charity which is a local charity in Northampton that provides support and assistance to bereaved families who have lost a child of any age.
