Blue House students have demonstrated a steady improvement in attitude and behaviour since the beginning of the school year. The clear majority of students are focused on their studies and this had resulted in a decreasing number of consequences. A part of this success is the hard work of our tutors, who facilitate the students’ progress and establish clear routines for them to follow.
Attendance has been consistent since the beginning of the ear, with most students trying their hardest to be punctual to lessons and be present even when they are feeling under the weather. This shows a dedication to their education, and as attendance is a focus for the College and Ofsted, it is important that students maintain their drive to attend school every day to maximise their academic potential.
Charity has been a huge part of the Blue House mentality this year. Helping people less fortunate than ourselves is a central moral of many Blue House students. Miss Spencer and her tutor group, B5, have already raised over £30, and others have donated chocolate bars and prizes for the Christmas tombola. Many students have been involved in formulating ideas for fundraising for our chosen charity, Young Minds. In total we have raised over £300, an incredible feat which I am sure we will maintain throughout the year.
As the new Achievement Director for Blue House, I am immensely proud to have a part in shaping the future for our students and staff. The tutors are incredibly dedicated to ensuring all students are cared for and promote a love of learning and school every tutor period. The students themselves have responded well to the change and I truly believe that we are capable of being the greatest House in the school.
With kindest regards
