Year 13 students who are not intending to apply for university took part in a two hour workshop run by Coca Cola on Thursday 2nd March. The workshop included a talk on the types of apprenticeships available with coca cola, and a demonstration on the type of activities that students may be expected to do at interviews as part of the selection process. Students were invited at the end of the session to apply for a Supply Chain apprenticeship at Coca Colas Brackmills warehouse. Interviews for this will take place at the end of March.
Year 12 dancers performed at N:Dance on Saturday 25th February. This is an auditioned entry into the county showcase for youth dance across Northants. The dancers a piece called Rihla which explores issues associated with being a refugee. They danced so well on the day and really improved against tough competition. Well done to all.
This week in assembly Cindy Odell, from Northampton University, presented to year 12 students on careers in health. She took the opportunity to explain the different routes into a career in the field of health, and spoke about the application process, focusing on both the soft skills needed as well as the academic qualifications. Cindy has offered to give any students interested in a career in health a chance to visit the University of Northampton and speak to current students to gain a further understanding of what their courses involve.
