After a string of successes this year, Kingsthorpe College is now celebrating students' A level and AS level results. Year 12 students have set a totally new standard with exceptional results across the board. Being an all inclusive Post 16 centre, students are given a chance to excel even if they haven't necessarily been successful in previous schools, yet year 12 students have rocketed home with 23% of them achieving the top A*-B grades.
We have recently completed two very successful induction days for our new Post 16 students, ending with a barbecue on the field in glorious sunshine! During the two days – attended by 100 students as we are set to have our biggest intake yet – there were various activities on offer including study skill sessions, a talk by an external speaker, and plenty of opportunities to take part in taster lessons. During the talk the speaker, Karim, explained to students how the brain can be used more effectively when it comes to learning new content.
I am really proud to share our latest Ofsted report with you all and to thank you formally for the part you have played in supporting us on our improvement journey over the past 12 months.
Sometimes, in the day to day activity of College life, we get absorbed into our own discreet roles but it is critical to remember we can only do what we do effectively as a result of everyone working in unison.
