GCSE Examination Results

After achieving an excellent set of Post 16 results last week, staff and students at Kingsthorpe College (sponsored by The Collaborative Academies Trust) were celebrating success this morning with the release of the 2017 GCSE results. Despite a new national system of grading and reformed GCSEs in English and maths - which have been deliberately designed to be tougher - Kingsthorpe College has maintained the high standard set last year in terms of the proportion of students attaining 5 good passes including English and maths.

Post 16 Examination Results

Kingsthorpe College Post 16 students were celebrating success this morning as they achieved notable improvements on previous years, and have results which continue a trajectory of improvement for the College. The College is particularly pleased to see Academic and A Level subjects improve by almost 1 grade per entry. The performance of students studying vocational qualifications was also an area for celebration as students’ outcomes remained significantly positive compared to national averages.

Post 16 sports day

Post 16 students had a fantastic penultimate day of the summer term, holding a sports day, organised by Head Girl Holly Wilkinson. The day included football, rounders, basketball, three legged races, skipping and numerous other events. Ice cream, candy floss, and popcorn was sold throughout the day to raise money for the Sixth Form charity, before the students arranged to have pizza delivered to the school for lunch.
