As part of their extra curricula activities students have been taking part in Young Enterprise Company programme which enables participants to experience what it’s like to set up and run a student company. Running throughout one academic year, students make all the decisions about their enterprise, from deciding on the name and product to creating a business plan, managing the student company finances and selling to the public at trade fairs.
KrispiKrafts started trading in October recycling crisp packets and turning them into fridge magnets, key rings and pencil cases. All though they have had lots of ups and downs they have been very determined, resilient and pro-active. The results of all their hard work were recognised on the evening of Thursday 26th April when they travelled to Wicksteed Park to take part in the Young Enterprise County Finals.
Competition was tough as they were against three teams from Wellingborough Independent School and a team from Northampton School for girls. But the team from KrispiKrafts were victorious winning four awards including Best Overall Company. This now means they are through to the regional finals where they will be representing Northamptonshire at the East Midlands Regional Finals being held at Nottingham Trent University on 20th June.
“Miss Fisher their link teacher stated that she is incredibly proud of what they have achieved, they are a real inspiration and it has been a wonderful journey that I have travelled with them which is not over yet. All of the students involved are a credit to Kingsthorpe College and the values that we aspire to”.
Managing director Filip Naumenko said “ I just can’t believe how well we have done. I never expected to win so many awards it’s just fantastic we are all so excited. Taking part in this programme has helped all of us develop our employability skills we are so lucky that our school has provided us with this platform”
The students would like to raise awareness to their cause. KRISPIKRAFTS mission statement is ‘to make eco everyone's best friend’ so please join them on this road as they embark on a journey of cleaning the environment for generations to come. Every crisp packet you recycle equates to 1.5g of carbon footprint which is hazardous to the environment, so why not join forces with them and help to preserve the ecosystem.
Please support and follow them on social media to be part of and watch the rest of their exciting Entrepreneurial journey.
