On the 22nd March all Post 16 students will be invited to stay behind after school to do a solid three hours of extra work/coursework, and really ensure their revision schedule is well underway before the Easter holidays kick in. Past events have been very well attended, and students have been rewarded with a curry at the end of the revision session to celebrate their hard work (which explains the name – ‘Curry’ on revising).
On the night we provide plenty of revision aids – cue cards, highlighters, A3/A4 paper, pens – and ensure that there is an excellent environment for students to work in. We will also have a guest speaker, Dr Catherine Fritz, a cognitive neuroscientist, doing a thirty-minute presentation on revision skills. Dr Fritz is an expert on memory so this will be a very worthwhile talk for all students in year 12 and 13 to witness (whether they intend to stay for the entire evening of revision or not).
