Post 16 students being taught chinese during their spare time

Post 16 students are being given a new extra curricular opportunity starting this week; to learn Mandarin. Students from the Chinese Cultural Society at the University of Northampton will be coming in to KC to give basic lessons to groups of students and start teaching them the basics each week. A launch event was held on the 4th February where students were shown how to write their names and learn how to introduce themselves. There were also Chinese snacks given out as students learnt how to do Chinese calligraphy.

This partnership with the Chinese Cultural Society will be another excellent opportunity for our Post 16 students (and it was also lovely to see some of our gifted and talented year 11 students taking part) - learning Chinese will look fantastic for their CV’s and personal statements if applying for university, but also be really good fun as well.
