Post 16 Results

After a string of successes this year, Kingsthorpe College is now celebrating students' A level and AS level results. Year 12 students have set a totally new standard with exceptional results across the board. Being an all inclusive Post 16 centre, students are given a chance to excel even if they haven't necessarily been successful in previous schools, yet year 12 students have rocketed home with 23% of them achieving the top A*-B grades. An all time high for the College.  Whilst the college is pleased with all results there are some notable individual successes which include Marco Clark who achieved A grades in Maths and Physics and two B’s in double IT - he is an excellent candidate for Oxbridge.  Two thirds of students who took photography and Art achieved A- B grades with Karagh Byrne excelling by achieving A’s in both subjects, as well as a C in ICT.  Samuel Gilkes achieved a distinction in his PE, whilst also gaining an A grade in Business and C in Biology.

Year 13 students have not only maintained the overall high standards set by the College recently but have also increased the number of A*-B grades further with 28% of students now achieving the highest grades possible. Yet another success for Kingsthorpe College! Some notable individual A level results include:

  • Louisa Clarke, who achieved A*’s and A’s in Geography, Biology and General Studies, and a B in English Literature.  She goes on to study Geography at Birmingham University, where she will receive a yearly scholarship in recognition of her extremely high grades.
  • Paige Ostler achieved A*’s in Art and Photography and a pass in PE, and will go on to study Art at Northampton University.
  • Megan Rutter achieved A*’s and A’s in Travel and Tourism, Geography and General Studies and a B in English and fulfills her dream of studying Geography at Coventry University.
  • Maddie Wanford achieved A*’s and A’s in Sociology, History and General Studies and a B in English Literature and will attend Warwick University to study History.

Other noticeable achievements included Jake Grant and Aaron Lee who achieved double distinction star and double distinction in PE.

We are delighted with the results from all of our year 13 students, several of whom joined us having been declined places at their previous schools and who have now excelled at Kingsthorpe College achieving grades which will allow them to successfully enter the next stage of their careers, be it at university or in a job.

Principal, Debbie Morrison, welcomed all the results saying: "These results are another endorsement of the wonderful things happening at Kingsthorpe College, firmly recognised now as a great place to learn and work; thanks must go to our wonderful staff and students for their dedication and commitment".
