Our Y11 GCSE Art students are very busy preparing for their OCR-set Task, (GCSE Art exam). All three teaching groups have been creating a fantastic range of preparatory studies, using drawings and paintings undertaken from the recent visit to Kew Gardens.
The students are involved in peer-assessment, where they assess each other's work using the GCSE assessment criteria and then offer each other advice on improving and developing the work further. All Art teachers at Kingsthorpe College get involved in the peer-assessment process, offering individual intervention to students in their areas of expertise. The GCSE Art preparatory studies already exhibit a range of mediums including print making, painting, photography, drawing and ceramics, which offers our students a wide range of creative skills and areas of study towards success in their exam.
